My design process can be broken into five distinct phases. Each phase (which may consist of multiple rounds) is outlined below.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

DISCOVERY PHASE: I get to know you and connect via video, phone, or email to ask questions and gather insights about the project. Our objective is to establish a clear direction and agreed-upon project goals so we can move forward with the design process.

1

IDEATION: After gathering information in the Discovery phase, I’ll explore, sketch, improve, and eliminate design concepts to present 2-4 completed graphics for you to review. After discussing and revising the ideas, we’ll ultimately choose one or two suitable concepts to improve in the next phase and move forward in that direction.

2

REFINEMENT: From the selected direction(s), I explore different treatments, flush out further details and present the best options in grayscale and color (if specified in phase 1). After discussing and choosing the option you like best, we’ll move forward with adding in 1- 4 typographical options that compliment the graphic.

3

VECTORIZE: Once the final graphic(s) and typefaces (fonts are chosen, I then convert the chosen design(s) into a vector graphic, explore variations, balance any typographical inconsistencies, and add finer details if necessary. I will then present the vector graphic in grayscale and 2-3+ color options for approval. You provide feedback and then select your preferred color options for the final phase of the project.

4

FINALIZATION: I make any minor revisions you request and send a presentation and contextual mock-ups (when applicable) for final approval. Once you have signed off the final design(s), I then send you the final deliverable files along with a final invoice for the project. We then cheers on our successful collaboration!
